Hi, I’m Kory Sherland, a professional peer mentor and career counsellor to Autistic teens and adults and other teens and adults with disability, an online program creator and an avid lifelong learner. I’m also the author of 6 books under my pen name ‘Kathy Divine’ and assist aspiring authors with publishing their first book.
In my peer mentoring work, I draw from my 49 years of lived experience, navigating a world, including the societal systems and expectations that weren’t set up for someone like me to thrive. I bring all of this together, in addition to the professional development I do on a regular basis, to all my work with my clients. Using my experiences and knowledge, I craft, in collaboration with my clients, strategies that focus on strengths and overcome barriers to meaningful participation in employment, social and community life.
I grew up in Sydney, Australia, have lived in several cities and towns around Australia and love travelling and exploring this beautiful planet. I currently reside in Brisbane.
I’ve had the privilege of meeting several high-achieving and influential people over the years who have encouraged and inspired my work. I’m forever grateful for all opportunities that come my way.
When I’m not working or studying, I love visiting my favourite vegan restaurants, playing drums, reading books about animals and meditating.
Watching comedy TV shows is my favourite way to relax and unwind. I’m a big music lover too. My favourite bands and singers are Icehouse, Pet Shop Boys, Keane and James Blunt.
